Call for Proposals
Welcome! The Planning Committee for La Cosecha 2008 invites you to share your teaching strategies and dual language expertise with your colleagues by presenting a workshop at the La Cosecha Conference. La Cosecha seeks classroom teachers, informal educators, university professors, education professionals, and other members of the education community who can conduct interesting, informative, and useful workshops for conference attendees.
The 13th Annual La Cosecha Dual Language Conference will take place November 12-15, 2008 at the Santa Fe Convention Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Selected proposals will:
- Receive notification of proposal status via e-mail by June 16, 2008
- Receive ONE complimentary registration for ONLY the Lead Presenter listed on this form (limit ONE complimentary registration per Lead Presenter)
Please note: Co-Presenters must submit a conference registration form AND pay the appropriate registration rates.
Workshop Proposal Submission Guidelines
This year's La Cosecha 2008 Conference Presentation "Strands" will be aligned with the seven Strands of the Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education document.
To assist you in aligning your proposal with the "Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education", please see the list of document strands and guiding principles.
Proposals should:
- Specifically address dual language education
- Align with the Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education document
- Include an outline of the presentation (including time increments)
- Have a duration of 1.5 hours
- Be of interest to a variety of teachers
- Consist of hands-on activities, lecture, demonstration, and/or discussion
Important Note: La Cosecha does not accept Commercial Presentations
We do not accept proposals from companies, organizations, or individuals who wish to demonstrate a product or service that is available for sale.
Sponsorship Exception
- Lapis Level sponsors receive one commercial presentation.
- Turquoise level sponsors receive two commercial presentations.
Deadline for Submission
The deadline, Friday, May 23, 2008, 5:00 p.m. MST for submissions has passed. Thank you to all who submitted proposals. Submissions after the deadline will be considered on a space-available basis but may not appear in the conference registration or promotional materials.
All proposals will be evaluated by the Proposal Selection Committee (comprised of dual language educators) and not all proposals will be accepted.
Historically La Cosecha has received more proposals than we have been able to accept.
