John and Juan
!Una presentación teatral que cruza culturas¡
"John and Juan" is a lively romp through the history of the Southwest. Juan, a native Spanish speaker, and John, an Anglo with Texas roots, discover a shared heritage as they humorously explore historic moments in New Mexico's rich past. Beginning with the would-be conquistador Cabeza de Vaca, Juan brings to life the early explorers in search of the mythical cities of Cibola. John, meanwhile, gets a rude awakening as a Franciscan Padre in an encounter with a Native American. The friends have bragging and singing contests to determine who is the greater cowboy/vaquero, and find themselves on opposite sides of the Mexican-American War. But it's all in good fun as we all learn along with "John and Juan" the history of the land of enchantment.
"John y Juan" es una experiencia divertida a través de la historia del suroeste de los Estados Unidos. Juan, un hispanohablante, y John, un anglo con raices tejanas, descubren una herencia compartida mientras exploran momentos históricos del pasado tan rico de Nuevo Mexico. Empezando con el mentado conquistador Cabeza de Vaca, Juan da vida a los tempranos exploradores en busca de la ciudades miticas de Cibola. Mientras tanto John recuerda como un fraile franciscano, de repente tropezandose con una persona incligena. Al seguir haciendose amigos, John y Juan se retan con concursos de canto y fanfarrón para determinar quien es el mejor vaquero. Tambien se encuentren en lados opuestos de la guerra mexicoamericana. Pero el pilblico llega a divertirse mucho al aprender juntos con John y Juan la historia de la tierra encantada.

| Theatre Workshops (available to schools booking at least one performance) | $125.00 |
*Performances must be in the same day in order to reciev discounted rate.
